What a win! Canet and Fantic dominate the Moto2 season finale

At the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Fantic Racing Moto2 star Aron Canet secured his fourth victory of an incredible season, after having topped every single session during the GP weekend dedicated to his hometown of Valencia.

Fastest in free practice, fastest in both practice sessions, pole position, and victory—this is the summary of Aron Canet and Fantic’s stellar performance at the final Moto2 round of the season. Despite a challenging start, the pole sitter needed just two laps to fight his way back into podium contention. By the third lap, he had reclaimed the lead, managing the race pace flawlessly all the way to the chequered flag.

But this weekend’s triumph is only part of a larger story. From mid-season onward, the team’s performance reached new heights, and the bond between Canet and Fantic Racing grew stronger with every race. The 25-year-old Spaniard elevated his form to a new level, creating a significant gap to his closest competitors and securing second place in the World Championship.

Canet concludes his first season with the Fantic Racing team with remarkable stats: four victories, more than any other rider in Moto2 this year, a total of eight podiums, six pole positions, and the title of Moto2 World Championship runner-upforming a promising foundation for ongoing success in the future.

Xavi Cardelus concluded his first full season in the Moto2 World Championship with a solid race, finishing in 22nd position at his home track.

Aron Canet:

“I am really happy with this win, it was an outstanding race. I really enjoyed the first few laps, recovering the positions I lost at the start, because I love overtaking. This victory is special to me. Winning the first Solidarity Grand Prix organized by Dorna holds a special meaning because it helps my hometown, Valencia. I want to dedicate this win to everyone who has suffered or is still suffering from the flood. I hope I have given the people of Valencia a happy moment. I wore a special leather suit, which is the most beautiful one of my career, and it was auctioned off, with the proceeds going to charity. I want to thank my team, Fantic Racing Moto2, for this season. They believed in me from the start, and even though the first part of the championship wasn’t fully positive, they helped me a lot, and together we managed to improve. Since Silverstone, I have been able to race the way I have always wanted, and the results speak for themselves. For me, we are the best team, and the goal for next year is clear.”

Xavi Cardelus:

“It wasn’t an easy race. From the sixth lap onwards, my feeling wasn’t ideal. The season is over, and it has been more challenging than we initially expected. We have a much higher potential than what we have shown, but we couldn’t maintain consistency throughout the weekend. I want to thank the Fantic Racing Moto2 Team for this year together.”

Roberto Locatelli, Fantic Racing Moto2 Team Manager:

“A wonderful and special finale to a memorable season, even more so because Mariano Roman, our Head of Racing, was with us here in Barcelona. He allows us to compete at the highest level, achieve incredible results, and entertain the fans. Today, Fantic celebrated this amazing victory alongside a true champion, Aron CanetI would also like to take a moment to thank Xavi for the season we shared together. He never gave up, even though we didn’t achieve the results we had hoped for. We wish him all the best for his future.”

Stefano Bedon, Fantic Racing Moto2 Project Manager:
“It has been an exciting season, capped off with this triumphant finale. What makes me most proud, however, is the progress our top rider has achieved together with the entire team. We have proven that we are on the right path. Essentially, our task for next year is to keep doing what we have been doing to remain among the favourites for the Word Championship.”

Mariano Roman, Fantic Motor Vice President and Head of Racing:

“Aron’s victory was an incredible gift to close out an unforgettable season for Fantic. I would like to thank our whole team for an amazing job. Standing on the podium alongside our Vice World Champion was a big emotion—may it be a good omen for next year!”
