Aron Canet and Fantic on Pole at the Season Finale

Heading into the season finale at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with the Moto2 Vice World Champion title already secured, Aron Canet continues to impress, earning Fantic Racing their sixth pole position of an exceptional 2024 campaign.

Canet has been flawless throughout the weekend so far, topping every single practice session and dominating qualifying to clinch the top spot on the grid. This marks his sixth pole of the season, setting the stage for a final push to secure another trophy and close a memorable year on a high note.

Andorran rider Xavi Cardelus, enjoying another home GP, aims to end his first full Moto2 season strong. Starting from row 9, he is determined to fight his way forward.

The final race of this thrilling season, dedicated to Aron’s hometown of Valencia, gets underway on Sunday at 12:15 local time.

Aron Canet:

I am happy. The last time I started from pole, I won the race. We are very strong on this track and have made steady improvements with every lap. The most important point is that our race pace is good. I feel great, and managing the tyres well will be crucial to be able to fight until the final lap. As a rider from Valencia, it is special to take pole position at the first Solidarity Grand Prix organised by Dorna. I want to do my best to bring home a trophy for the people going through such a difficult time. Once again, a big thank you to my team, Fantic Racing. They are doing an incredible job and have always had my back.”
